Το alfavita, εκπαιδευτική σελίδα αναφέρθηκε στις πολύ σημαντικές διακρίσεις για το Ε.Κ.Π.Α. που επιφύλασσαν οι δημοσιεύσεις των αποτελεσμάτων τεσσάρων έγκυρων παγκόσμιων κατατάξεων Πανεπιστημίων, οι οποίες επιβεβαιώνουν τη διεθνή αναγνώριση του αλλά και την πρωτοκαθεδρία του όχι μόνο μεταξύ των ελληνικών αλλά και μεταξύ όλων των Πανεπιστημίων της Νοτιοανατολικής Ευρώπης.

Στην Κατάταξη στο “Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations” της Webometrics (Ιανουάριος 2024) το ΕΚΠΑ βρίσκεται στην 89η θέση μεταξύ των 5.565 ιδρυμάτων και το Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Μακεδονίας στην 1458η θέση .

Στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη Πανεπιστημίων «Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities», το Ε.Κ.Π.Α. βρίσκεται στην 247η θέση παγκοσμίως μεταξύ 12.000 Πανεπιστημίων και το Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Μακεδονίας στην 4.457η θέση.
